Our journey back to Oregon this week has treated us to amazing sights all along the way!
Our beautiful country is chock-full of geologic wonders and an abundance of wildlife.
The history of this great land unfolded before us with every mile we traveled.

As we traveled west, we could not help but reflect on the spiritual impact of The First People and the sacred relationship they fostered with the earth, the water, and the sky.  They are stewards of the land, who lived in harmony with nature.

We are a nation surrounded by a wealth of treasures that we cannot afford to take for granted.......



THURSDAY     The Grand Teton - 13,770 feet
 

Glacier, Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks hold geologic wonders that were created when tectonic plates came together and pushed the flat land skyward.  Ocean floors became mountain ranges, like a rumpled, earthen table cloth with massive folds.  The Continental Divide makes a serpentine path through these parks.

in the middle of the prairie grasslands

TUESDAY    Devil's Tower, Wyoming

The climber is dwarfed by the massive rock!    Without the camera's zoom lens,
he looked like a speck and could hardly be seen with the unaided eye!
